River Run Park is Open

Surfs Up on the South Platte

Surf is in at the new River Run Park in Englewood, Colorado. The new park is part of a twenty-five million dollar plan to revitalize and reconfigure several drops on the South Platte in the southern Denver metro area.

The park is designed for river surfers, by river surfers. It is sure to please the SUP enthusiast with its two open features.

The top feature is perfect for the Hala Peno, while beginners will find the lower feature suitable for boards like the Hala Atcha 86 and Hala Atcha. More advanced riders can try board slides on the sides of the features.
With more features set to open further upstream in future years, this new resource for paddlers in the Denver community is sure to please for decades to come.

Partners for River Run Park included the cities of Englewood, Littleton and Sheridan; the Arapahoe County Open Spaces Department; the South Suburban Parks and Recreation; and the Colorado Water Conservation Board. McLaughlin Whitewater Design Group of Merrick & Company, which focuses on recreational whitewater and open channel hydraulics, designed the park.
